Lidija Zelić, Managing Director of the Serbian Biogas Association, participated in the second consortium meeting and technical workshop of the BIOMAPE project (Biomethane Market Acceleration and Uptake in Europe), held in Ljubljana and hosted by project partner CCIS-CAFE and project coordinator ISINNOVA.
The first day was dedicated to the consortium meeting, during which project partners exchanged updates on the progress of project activities, biomethane market and policy developments, certification systems and cross-border trade, as well as issues related to social acceptance, communication, and dissemination of project results.
On the second day, a technical workshop was held with representatives of the Slovenian biogas and biomethane sector, providing an opportunity to exchange experiences on regulatory frameworks, market trends, and opportunities for biomethane development in the region. A particularly interesting session focused on the Italian biomethane support scheme, offering valuable insights into different national approaches and helping identify best practices that could be applied elsewhere.
Participation in international events of this kind is of great importance for the development of Serbia’s biomethane sector, as it enables the exchange of knowledge, experience, and contacts with leading European experts and organizations actively shaping the future of renewable gases in Europe.
As one of the partners in the BIOMAPE project, the Serbian Biogas Association actively contributes to international initiatives aimed at accelerating biomethane market development, promoting the exchange of best practices, and creating a more favorable regulatory and market environment for the growth of the sector in Serbia.
