Continuous professional development and keeping pace with evolving market trends are essential for the growth of the biogas and biomethane sector, particularly in the areas of project financing, investment, and project development.
With this objective in mind, members of the Board of Directors of the Serbian Biogas Association participated in the Financial Modelling & Project Finance Fundamentals training programme organized by the Renewables Academy (RENAC). The training focused on financial modelling, risk assessment, project bankability, and investment readiness for biogas and biomethane projects.
The programme was delivered with the support of the Association’s long-standing partner, Fachverband Biogas e.V. (German Biogas Association), and brought together participants from several countries actively engaged in the development of the renewable gases sector.
The training provided valuable insights into the functioning of mature European markets, where key challenges increasingly relate to project financing, risk management, and attracting investment. One of the central messages of the programme was that investors are not looking for risk-free projects, but for projects in which risks are clearly identified, properly assessed, and effectively managed.
The Serbian Biogas Association remains committed to investing in knowledge development and international cooperation, ensuring that its members have access to the latest expertise, market trends, and best practices from across Europe and beyond.
