On Friday, October 3, 2025, the Serbian Biogas Association, in cooperation with Fachverband Biogas e.V. (German Biogas Association) and the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, successfully organized the first roundtable within the Biogas & Biomethane ROADSHOW 2025 initiative.

This initiative opens a new chapter in the development of the biogas and biomethane sector in Serbia, with the goal of accelerating the integration of biomethane into our energy system. Biogas and biomethane are not just technologies, but essential pillars of the circular economy and sustainable development – turning waste into energy, reducing emissions, and creating added value for agriculture and local communities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina for their support, as well as to our partners Fachverband Biogas e.V. for the fruitful cooperation.
A special thanks goes to Prof. Dr. Đorđe Djatkov, who presented the results of a study providing a clear and illustrative overview of the perspectives and challenges for biomethane development in Serbia.

Key conclusions of the roundtable:

• The need to establish a clear strategic and regulatory framework;
• Stimulating investments in production and infrastructure;
• Developing financial and market support mechanisms;

• Strengthening awareness and capacity-building among key stakeholders.

This is only the beginning! The ROADSHOW will continue to connect stakeholders and provide guidance for the accelerated development of the biomethane market in Serbia.
