Future of Biogas Europe 2026: Driving Deployment, Investment and Market Integration

Future of Biogas Europe 2026: Driving Deployment, Investment and Market Integration

The Serbian Biogas Association is an official media partner of the Future of Biogas Europe 2026 Summit.

The summit will take place on 25–26 November 2026 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, bringing together senior decision-makers, industry leaders and key stakeholders from across the European biogas, biomethane and renewable gas value chain.

As Europe continues to accelerate its energy transition, biogas and biomethane are becoming increasingly important for decarbonisation, energy security and the circular economy. The summit will provide a platform for discussing the next phase of market development, project deployment, investment opportunities, policy developments and infrastructure integration across Europe’s renewable gas sector.

The Serbian Biogas Association will also contribute to the programme through a presentation highlighting Serbia’s experience in developing its biogas market and the opportunities for biomethane development.

The programme will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • The future role of biogas and biomethane in Europe’s energy transition
  • Scaling up biomethane production to meet growing market demand
  • Policy, regulation and certification
  • Financing new biogas and biomethane projects
  • Overcoming permitting challenges and accelerating project delivery
  • Feedstock optimisation and sustainability
  • Grid injection, infrastructure integration and renewable gas trading
  • Technological innovation and commercial scale-up
  • The role of renewable gas in decarbonising transport and industry
  • Unlocking value from digestate, biogenic CO₂ and circular economy applications

The summit will also address the key challenges facing the sector, including fragmented regulatory frameworks, lengthy permitting procedures, financing constraints, grid access and market integration, while highlighting emerging opportunities through increasing renewable gas demand, biomethane certification, technological innovation and new investment across Europe.

The event is intended for a broad range of stakeholders, including biogas and biomethane producers, project developers, technology providers, utilities, gas infrastructure companies, investors, policymakers, certification bodies, research organisations, associations and representatives of the agricultural sector.
