Training Biogas to Biomethane

Training Biogas to Biomethane

Held training “Biogas to Biomethane”

In October, another training was organized by the German Biogas Association, Fachverband Biogas e.V., this time focusing on biomethane. The lecturer, as in previous trainings, was Frank Hofmann, a biogas expert from the German Biogas Association. Since we plan to intensively engage with biomethane in the upcoming period, this training was extremely significant for us, as experiences from the German market, a global biogas leader, are highly valuable. We particularly reflected on the early development of the biomethane sector in Germany, and we plan to utilize the valuable guidelines and advice we received from our colleagues in Germany in developing the biomethane sector in Serbia.

Our constant effort to reduce dependence on fossil fuels is primarily reflected in our endeavors to secure alternative sources that will compensate for the future gap between the required energy and energy obtained from fossil fuels. Since completely abandoning fossil fuels is something we should strive for as the ultimate goal, we are obliged to raise awareness about the enormous potential of biomethane. Biomethane is renewable and does not contribute to the greenhouse gas effect, being considered the best commercially renewable fuel. All products of biomethane can be utilized, and energy losses are minimal.

Biomethane is a topic we will actively engage with and discuss in the coming period.
