Round Table at the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, organized by the Biogas Serbia Association

On Friday, December 2, 2022, in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina in Novi Sad, a round table titled “Status-quo of the Biogas Sector in Serbia” was organized. This event was held for members and representatives of the Biogas Serbia Association, together with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, to discuss the current state and issues in the sector and to draw conclusions that will contribute to better and more efficient functioning of the sector.

During the meeting, a discussion was held on the current state of the sector, the current price of electricity on the spot market of electrical energy, current feed-in tariffs for biogas operators, prices of raw materials needed for the operation of biogas power plants, green certificates, and the favorable impact of biogas power plants on the environment.

After that, in the second part of the meeting, discussions focused on the next steps that need to be taken to achieve a common goal: strengthening the biogas sector in the Republic of Serbia, as well as creating favorable and stable conditions for all members of the Biogas Serbia Association to work in the sector.

In the third part of the meeting, conclusions were drawn. Given that the meeting was extremely productive, one of the conclusions is that such meetings should be organized regularly. This would allow the management and members of the Biogas Serbia Association, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, to regularly discuss current issues and find effective and timely solutions.
