To support the growth of the biogas and bioenergy sector in India, the Indian Biogas Association, with the support of the German Biogas Association and Informa Markets, is organizing the Bio-Energy PavilionB 2022 at the Renewable Energy India Expo, Greater Noida, India on 28 September. 2022 to September 30, 2022.
The launch of the SATAT scheme (a sustainable alternative to affordable transport), and the initiative of the Government of India to build 5,000 biogas plants by 2025, have caused a significant repercussion in the market. So far, over 3,000 Letters of Intent have been issued and several factories have started supplying CBG to oil marketing companies, and this is just the beginning.
To increase the visibility of the biogas sector, IBA participated in the Renewable Energy Expo (REI), a recognized renewable energy event since 2018. Bio-Energy Pavilion 2019 was organized by IBA which hosted 15 companies as exhibitors, and over 2000 visitors, and was organized through 200 business meetings.
In the 2022 edition, IBA invites companies and start-ups working in the fields of biogas, biomethane, biofuels, waste management, wastewater treatment plants, biomass, bio-diesel, bio-ethanol, bio-fertilizers to join BioEnergy Pavilion.
During the three days, there will be an exchange of experiences, business meetings, and conferences with the world’s best experts in these fields, top industry leaders, and decision-makers. The conference is expected to pave the way for sustainable growth in the sector.
Biogas is increasingly becoming a key factor in the development of renewable energy sources in every country. This is also the case in India, so if it uses its full potential, biogas will appear as one of the indispensable components in the renewable sources sector, creating employment opportunities and reducing the country’s dependence on crude oil imports. As Dr. A.R. rightly said. Shukla, president of the IBA, “biogas is the perfect link that provides multiple solutions to issues such as clean energy production, scientific waste management, emissions and pollution reduction, as well as optimal nutrient recycling.”
