An SBA member, Biogest Energie und Wassertechnik GmbH, opened its representative office in Novi Sad on September 27, 2017. They are an international manufacturer of biogas plants in Europe, having its headquarters in Austria. Their biogas engineering operations extend along the entire biogas value chain, from project development to planning, financing, turnkey construction and technical and biological servicing for successful operation of biogas plants.
At the opening ceremony, Martin Schlerka, one of the owners, said that the goal of this Austria-based international company was further development of projects, in addition to mutual cooperation and hiring of sub-contractors and workforce in the field:
– Our goal, among other things, is to work in long-term partnerships on projects in which we can jointly take advantage of numerous possibilities in the central, eastern and south-eastern Europe. Combining technical expertise in agriculture offered by our project partners and out experience with biogas, we will be able to implement projects in the Serbian market offering highly efficient plants and attractive returns on investment; this will hopefully encourage others to engage in the use of biomass. Over 130 projects we implemented across Europe and beyond testify to the fact that biomass is the future of RES, said Martin Schlerka, Biogest CEO.
Nenad Grbic, the Province of Vojvodina Secretary for Energy, Construction and Transport, said in his address that the Governments of Vojvodina and Serbia welcomed every initiative for environmentally friendly projects that involve production of electricity and other energy from biomass and achieve efficiencies through synergy of cattle breading and crop farming sectors, and that the Vojvodina Government and relevant secretariats would continue to encourage small and medium-sized enterprises whose operations are linked to RES to come to Vojvodina. The SBA Board members and some of the SBA members were among the guests at the opening ceremony.
