Prilikom procesa odvajanja potkožnog tkiva od kože dodaju se hemikalije (kreč, enzimi, natrijum-sulfhidrat, natrijum-sulfit, amonijum-sulfat i polifosfat) i voda. Dnevna količina je oko 10 t sa zaostalom vodom. Trenutno za potrebe jednog klijenta tkivo ubacujemo u izbušene IBC kontejnere, čime se izdvoji deo vode.
